Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 27, 2026  ·  Applies to the MukGo mobile application and website
The short version: MukGo runs on very little personal data. Your location is used live to find places near you and is not kept as a trip history. We do not sell your data, we do not show targeted ads, and there is no third-party analytics, tracking or advertising SDK in the app. You can have your account and data deleted by email at any time.

1.Who we are

MukGo ("we," "us," or "our") is a driving companion app operated by Vertex Filtration LLC, 18627 Gresham St, Northridge, CA 91324, USA. This Privacy Policy explains what the MukGo app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions and requests: john@mukgo.net.

2.What we collect

DataWhat it includesWhy
AccountEmail address and nicknameOnly if you sign in. Identifies your reviews, favorites and reward credits.
LocationApproximate position while a search screen is openTo find places near you and estimate walking time. See section 3.
Content you submitReviews, ratings, photosStored with your account and shown to other drivers.
Device identifierA random id generated on your phoneGroups anonymous feedback and safety-warning consent, and prevents abuse of free limits. Not your advertising ID; not linked to your name.
PreferencesLanguage, distance units, vehicle typeKept on your own device.

We do not collect your contacts, photo library, call logs, health data, or browsing history.

3.Location — how it is actually used

Location answers one question: what is near you right now. It is sent to our mapping provider to fetch nearby places, and it is used on your device to estimate walking times and to detect whether the car is moving, so that screens needing a lot of typing can lock themselves while you drive.

We do not build or store a history of where you have driven. Coordinates are not stored on our servers except where they are attached to a review you deliberately post, or as the coarse location of an anonymous stop rating (section 5). You can revoke location permission at any time in your phone settings; the app still works, with fewer features.

4.AI stop planning

When you tap the AI planner, we send Anthropic — our AI provider — only these four things: how many minutes you have, the names and categories of the nearby places already shown on your screen, their computed round-trip walking times, and your display language.

We do not send your name, email address, account ID, or coordinates. The AI orders and explains options; it neither receives nor produces personal data about you. Anthropic processes this as our service provider and, under its API terms, does not use it to train models.

5.Anonymous stop feedback and safety consent

When you answer whether a stop was worth it, we store the answer with the place, a coarse location and the random device identifier — not your account. When you accept the safety warning on first run, we store that acceptance with its date and time, the app version of the warning, and the same device identifier.

Both records are write-only from the app: they are used in aggregate (or, for consent, as a record that the warning was shown) and cannot be read back or tied to you through the app.

6.Who else handles your data

ProviderWhat they receive
Google PlacesYour approximate location and search terms, to return nearby places. Governed by Google's privacy policy.
Supabase (Lovable Cloud)Hosts accounts, reviews and meetup data on our behalf.
AnthropicAI planning requests as described in section 4.
Google Play · Apple App StoreHandle purchases and subscriptions. We never see your card details.

Each receives only what it needs, and none of them is permitted to sell your data.

7.What we do not do

8.Keeping and deleting your data

Account data is kept while your account exists. Reviews stay visible while they are useful to other drivers; when your account is deleted they are removed or permanently detached from you. Anonymous feedback and consent records are retained and cannot be reversed to identify you.

To delete your account and its data, open the app and go to Account → Delete my account; the deletion happens immediately. You can also email john@mukgo.net from the address on your account — for a deletion, or to request a copy of your data — and we verify the request and act within 30 days. Full instructions are on our Data Deletion page.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights — access, correction, portability, objection, and the right to complain to your data protection authority. We honour these requests regardless of where you live. California residents may exercise rights under the CCPA/CPRA at the same address; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.

9.Children

MukGo is not designed for children and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, email john@mukgo.net and we will delete it.

10.International transfers and changes

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States, using the safeguards those providers offer. If we change this policy in a material way we will announce it in the app and update the effective date above.
